A Dutch governmental co-working lab for the country’s top quantum technology startups to achieve without limits.
Quantum Delta NL's HoQ is a new level of how the Dutch government is creating a fertile ground for quantum technology development. Opening late 2022, this 3 story building is a shared office, lab, and meeting hub for all the brightest minds in Dutch quantum computing, empowered with access to the best equipment and one another.
ROLE:
Brand Strategy & Design
Interior Design
The process:
We wanted to transform the interior of this boxy building into a futuristic hub of portals, dreams, and innovation. To achieve this, we designed bold, retro-futurism inspired wallpapers to wrap around the central column of each floor, matching rugs to open portals in the floor inside offices and cubicle areas, and large format posters to brighten up the creatively partitioned interior space designed by D/DOCK. We worked with D/DOCK to color match wallpaper prints, rug colors, and paint colors for a flawless finish.
Research & Inspiration
Harkening back to the branding we designed for Infinity, we brought in a retro-futurism aesthetic to speak to the innovative thinking and optimism of the mid-20th century. We used large format wallpapers printed with bright, retro colors and shapes, science and space travel inspired elements, and bold patterns to disrupt and set a new standard for what deep tech could look like.
Design & Iterations
D/DOCK had already transformed the interior office space into an open concept dream co-working space, and all we had to do was apply the finishing touches, colors, and textures to really transport people. We visually translated some of the core concepts in quantum science to come up with the theme for each floor.
We iterated with D/DOCK and the client until all the colors look vibrant and accurate when printed onto samples, and the overall look was clean and effective.
House of Quantum EW10 will be completed in late 2022.
Posters
Identifying the core principles the space will invoke, I created large format posters that boast inspiring messages, as little daily reminders for the folks at QDNL to feel immense pride in the work they’re doing. I created three themes: light, dark, and bright, as extensions of each floor’s theme, using similar kaleidoscope and vapor wave design elements.
